The study aims to establish significance by detailing some of the patients experiences as it pertains to their journey of changing their lifestyle. While some people are able to adjust their lifestyle fairly easy, there are some individuals who aren’t able to maintain the physical activity or diet necessary to properly manage their diabetes. This study is primarily focused on detailing some of the barriers some people may face when changing their lifestyle. Malpass states the objective of this study is “to explore patients newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) experiences of making single (diet) or multiple (diet and physical activity) changes in order to (1) assess whether patients experienced increases in physical activity as supporting or hindering dietary changes and vice versa, and (2) whether patients found making multiple lifestyle changes counterproductive or beneficial.” Method of Study: I found that qualitative methods were appropriate in answering the research questions. The author did not specifically state that there was a specific perspective being taken however it seems as though the study was fairly objective. To strengthen their argument the author used primarily qualitative sources that were relevant to the topic. The sources that were used were from 2010. Although they are older than five years old which is usually the limit for quantitative studies, they are still relevant to the study at hand. The author did not indicate any weaknesses of the available studies that were done however the literature provided was enough to make a logical argument. Results of Study

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
