UNIVERSITI TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND FINANCE ACADEMIC YEAR: 2018/2019 MAY 2018 TRIMESTER UBMZ2013 BUSINESS RESEARCH Research Proposal Guideline II Problem statement/Statement of the problem The heart of any research project is the problem Answer the question: “What is the gap that needs to be filled?” and/or “What is the problem that needs to be solved?” State the problem clearly in the paragraph(s). Limit the variables you address in stating your problem or question. The ultimate goal of a problem statement is to transform a generalized problem into a targeted, well-defined problem one that can be resolved through focused research and careful decision-making Before you start your research, you need to have some idea of what you want to do. Generate the research idea through various readings & searching the literatures, discussions, brainstorming etc. Identify the research problem that related to your area of interest.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
