Nguyen 1 Uyen Nguyen ANTH 101-05 Raghu Trichur September 11, 2018 Assignment #1 In the article, Biological Diversity and Cultural Diversity: From Race to Radical Bioculturalism by Alan H. Goodman, he introduces the reader to the concept of radical bioculturalism. Goodman argues that we should start to see race as a sociopolitical instead of biological concept since there is no biological criteria to determine race. Even though biological cues can affect the way we see individuals, racial classifications can yield even more biological and social consequences – such as health. To be able to understand the new biocultural agenda, we should consider integrating anthropology into the picture. In my introduction, I express how race, gender, and ethnicity are major issues in America simply because they are hidden social concepts. The majority of the people avoid bringing it up
