Page 3 of 18 Overview of Samsung Samsung is the leader in international market, established in 1969. The company is operating in 80 countries in the world with approximately 325,677 employees, subsidiaries of 200 throughout the world (Sustainability Report, 2016). Samsung’s business is separated in three segments IT, communication and device solution and consumers electrics. The main focus of the company is to provide the premium products for the consumers. This company also is known as a good innovative in international market (Research-Methodology, 2018).

Page 4 of 18 1.0 Vision, Mission Vision "Inspire the World, Create the Future" (Samsung Electronics America, 2018). The vision statement of Samsung is good, but the statement is lack of the type of the business the company is in. The vision statement company like Samsung is very important as the vision is the target of the company. Thus, to be very specific and target focus vision of the company should be amended or new statement of vision of Samsung may be prepared. Mission “Inspire the world with our innovative technologies, products and design that enrich people’s lives and contribute to social prosperity by creating a new future (Samsung Electronics America, 2018) The mission statement of Samsung is not qualified the requirement. A good mission statement must include nine points. But the mission of Samsung is not focus for all the points, also the statement looks like vision of the company. The mission statement consists few points of the 9 but these are not clear or not fulfill the specific criteria of statement. Therefore, the company should be adopted a new mission statement by considering all the following nine points of mission statement. Customers of the company, products or services the company offer, where is the market? Type of technology the company is using, profitability, what is the philosophy, self- concept, public image and employees of Samsung. By taking into account, if the company develops the mission statement, it will be the best to follow and will be easy to achieve the vision.
