The relationship between the U.S. and Cuba in the 1960s In the 1960’s, The U.S. and Cuba did not have the best relationship. Some events that made the relationship rocky was in 1962, The U.S. made a trade embargo on Cuba. This made it impossible for importing Cuban sugar. The year before that, The U.S. tried to overthrow the Cuban government. The relationship worsened after the Cuban missile crisis. Even President Kennedy's death was said to have Cuban motive behind it.

The current relationship between the U.S and Cuba The current relationship between U.S. and Cuba has been a bumpy road since 1959. The relationship is full of distrust and antagonism. Throughout the century, the U.S. administrations has made sure that Cuba is isolated economically and diplomatically.
