Hi, Dr. Parsons. I do not think RDP is punitive. I believe that RDP is somewhat like just culture. A part of it was designed to help with improvements within nursing practice. I also think that it helps guide disciplinary decisions as well as investigation pertaining to errors to identify the cause or common causes of an event occurring. According to Russell and Radtke (2014), RDP was designed to guide the BON on evaluating cases of nursing practice errors or unprofessional conduct that would foster disciplinary consistency and incorporate a system approach (p 5). Russell, K. A. & Radtke, B. K. (2014). An evidence-based tool for regulatory decision–making: regulatory decision pathway. Journal of Nursing Regulation , 5 (2), 5–9. (PDF) _______________________________-------- RESPONSE 1 Great post Christina. The scenario you described, and the way it was handled is a great example of implementing just culture within healthcare organizations. Historically hospitals functioned under the assumption that a single, expert clinician was responsible for the safety and well-being of their patients.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
