I chose William Shakespeare because I believe he was one of the best British writer ofall time. Almost four hundred years after his death, William Shakespeare’s workcontinues to live on through his readers. Shakespeare put virtually indescribablefeelings into beautiful words that fit the specific form of the sonnet. He wrote 154sonnets and I think that Shakespeare’s sonnets are considered to be among the mostromantic poems even written. I chose his “Sonnet 18” because I believe it basicallyexplains why the object of his affection is not comparable to a summer’s day, it revolvesaround the idea that his beloved is indeed everlastingly beautiful.
