ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I thank the almighty God for His Grace and generosity that have been sufficient throughout my academic pursuits. The process of pursuing a Ph.D. programme is both a challenging and enjoyable experience. It is just like participating in a ten thousand kilometers charity race to assist the less fortunate people in the society. The race is accompanied with strain, struggle, frustration and encouragement by colleagues. Writing this Ph.D. thesis has been a process involving many characters. I realized that it was due to effective teamwork that I managed to achieve my goal. Even though it won’t be sufficient to register my heartfelt gratitude in words to each and every one who assisted me, I would still like to give lots of thanks to all these good people. First of all, I would like to give sincere gratitude to my three supervisors Prof. Zachary Bolo Awino, Dr. Reginah K. Kitiabi, and Prof. Ganesh Porkhariyal. They all accepted me as their Ph.D. student without hesitation when I presented to them my research proposal. Thereafter, they accorded me pieces of advice, calmly supervising, and guiding me in the right course. I have acquired a lot of knowledge from them, without their support I don’t imagine how I would have finished this doctoral programme successfully.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
