Based on the data chart above my organism is Staphylococcus aureus. Staphylococcus
aureus is a Gram positive organism with purple pigmentation. It’s morphology is cocci in
clusters. Staphylococcus aureus is known to be a glucose, lactose and a sucrose fermenter. There
was a white-like substance in all my phenol red broths. That was the acid that was made in the
solution. As I used the streak plate method to isolate my unknown on an agar plate, I was able to
see very well isolated colonies my agar plate. I could see the individual cocci. After gram
staining, I looked at my unknown under the microscope. I was able to get a very nice view but I
