Jayla BodePeriod 13/27/18DBQ : Why Did The US Enter World War IThere is not one reason as to why the US decided to enter World War I. There were manyfactors that contributed to the decision to abandon their neutrality and isolation. The Zimmermannote being one of the triggers, which proposed an alliance between Germany and Mexico andarose conflict between them and the United States. Another cause was the many economic issuesthat arose during that time period, as well as the unrestricted submarine warfare that beganduring the war. All these events led to U.S. Senate voting 82 to 6 to declare war againstGermany, and the U.S. House of Representatives agrees by voting 373 to 50, causing America toformally enter World War I.The economic issues during the war did not help as America was filled with manyimmigrants and there was not really a middle class.
