Removing the first-person pronouns and inserting the second-person pronouns gives it an audience-focus and audience benefits. 7. Stage one of writing a business letter would be Prewriting. During the prewriting phase, the author analyzes not only his purpose for writing but the audience he is trying to reach as well. Stage two involves writing the letter after researching and organizing the information necessary to get a specific point across to the audience. Stage three is the most important of the processes, revising the letter through proofreading and evaluation of the message. Though all three stages to business letter writing is important, most time spent creating the letter should be on the revision stage. Without revision and proofreading, the sender can give the wrong impression and not receive the results they want.
