AP lang & comp Morgan Laden 9/21/2017 Period 2 Martian Chronicles in class Essay Prompt #3 After earth survives a deadly atomic war, Bradbury's wrote his stories and displayed his attitude towards war. Bradbury does not like war, he viewed it as senseless self-destruction. He shows these things indirectly by making humans seem ignorant. He uses a metaphor to describe how Timothy is blind to the war while looking at it, blankly ignoring what is happening. " The was as removed and far off as two flies battling to the death in the arch of a great high and silent cathedral. And just as senseless." Another way bradburry indirectly shows how he feels about war and humanity is showing peoples' willful ignorance. On page 174, William starts speaking of war and the mother makes him stop. She says his name to get him to stop talking about it and brush it off. Brushing away the war like this is willfully ignorant, shes choosing to ignore the problems. This is how bradburry thinks people are with war, brushing it off, pretending its not
