Talladega College Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Introduction to Physical Sciences (NS 102) Spring-2019 Homework-V Name: Wesley Santos #ID: 167687 Answer all the questions (Total: 10 points) 1. What is the law of conservation of energy? The law of conservation is the total energy of an isolated object that remains constant, even before or after an event, remains constant, can not be destroyed or created, can only be transferred or transformed from one form to another. 2. Under what circumstances is no work done on a moving object even though a net force acts upon it? It is needed the force to be perpendicular to the instantaneous direction of motion. An example of this would be constant circular motion. The centripetal force acts towards the center of the circle, whereas the motion is instantaneously along the tangent. Here no work is done by the centripetal force. 3. In energy transformation: why planets closer to sun and farther away from sun have their total energy as constant?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
