(2 Paragraphs) During the Atlantic slave trade, the middle passage was crossing from Africa to the Americas by ships carrying slaves as their cargo. Women in Africa played a variety of traditional roles in their communities. Women were responsible for most of the household chores such as childcare, cooking, and cleaning. They also had responsibilities of much agricultural work like planting and harvesting ( Butler & Boston University, 1996). Also the other hand, they played an important role in fighting for independence during the colonial era For ages, cassava has been used as a source of food and carbohydrates all over the world, and it is a major staple food in most developing countries due to its drought capabilities as well as tolerance to grow in most soils.
