MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING 2 Management accountants have various ethical responsibilities and obligations within any organization. A certified management accountant derives their ethical and obligations guidelines from The Institute of Management Accountant. These principles are usually based on objectivity, fairness, and honesty. The standards include confidentiality, competence, credibility, and integrity. Every management accountant is supposed to maintain confidentiality and keep everything a secret at all the time. Every detail relating to management accounting should be kept a secret and not be disclosed to other persons. For instance, if I inform my management accountant on some issues regarding my finances, it is wrong for them to inform others including family members. Competence, on the other hand, means that they must have the proper qualification required for a management accountant (Principles of Accounting, 2012). Proper
