Running Head: PERSONAL WORLDVIEW & BUSINESS ETHICS 2 STEP 1 To what extent should personal religious beliefs impact our decisions about business ethics Personal religious beliefs should have a significant impact on decisions about business ethics. Being that I have a biblical worldview, I tend to base decisions off of the bible and what is deemed right in wrong. In business, there are decisions that need to be made that can be deemed ethically correct or incorrect. I believe that religious beliefs should have a significant impact on business ethics because it ultimately comes down to what is right and what is wrong. I would rather make a decision that protects the integrity of myself and my business rather than a decision that goes against what I believe. For instance, if I was in a situation where I was offered a way that cheated my way to success, I wouldn’t accept it because I believe in honesty and integrity, which goes against cheating. To what extent do your personal religious (or non-religious) beliefs about life impact your sense of business ethics and personal decision-making? In regard to personal decision-making, I tend to really consider my religious beliefs. Religious beliefs makes you consider the decisions you are making, and I ultimately make decisions based on my worldview. I would say most, if not all my decision-making is dependent on my personal religious beliefs. Does it seem odd to connect every belief we have about life back to what we believe about God? I don’t believe it is odd to connect every belief I have about life back to what I believe about God because my worldview is a reflection of who I am. My biblical worldview represents who I am and what I believe in, so it is obvious that I consider my moral and ethical beliefs when making decisions. Connecting life and my beliefs in God is necessary because who I am on this earth reflects on my next life with God.
