The story goes on to describe the main character Winstons peculiar daily routine and a brief insight into the terrifying current world by introducing “Thought Crime” and “Thought Police” that could arrest anyone for thinking improper or radical thoughts, there’s also the telescreens which are TV’s with a camera in it that aren’t allowed to be turned off by anyone causing people to constantly be monitored and brainwashed with government propaganda. The only language that is allowed to be spoken is the “Newspeak” which mixes many different concepts and words excludes words with any utilitarian relation or definition like the concept of love, friendship, happiness, and freedom, that prevents anyone to have any imagination or even athought of a possibility of a better society.
