1. Discuss which of the websites most effectively described the term at-risk as it relates to establishing and enhancing your understanding of the phrase. After reviewing the available websites, the two that most effectively describe the term at-risk from my understanding were U.S. Department of Health & Human Services: At-Risk Individuals and Teachnology. For many years I hear the term “at-risk,” but my understanding of it was that individual or family are in physical danger and needs immediate help. For the" The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services," it gives me the definition of at-risk, and details of what it means to be at-risk. "At-risk individuals are people with access and functional needs that may interfere with their ability to access or receive medical care before, during, or after a disaster or emergency” (PHE, nd). It also educated me on ways to consider when responding to individual or people who at at-risk. These frameworks include communication skills, maintaining health, services, and support. Teachnology also gives a great example of the term at-risk, and
