I am sorry to hear about the disconnect your facility is experiencing with the House Supervisor and the Charge Nurses. I am sure that makes it a long night for all parties involved. Happiness is a large part of job satisfaction, and there needs to be the structure within the organization to support staff in happy workplace (Morse, 2012). No one wants to work in a hostile work environment. A toxic atmosphere does nothing but causes additional issues. Lack of teamwork, respect, and trust can occur if the interactions between individuals are not healthy. Managers need to focus on building effective work teams (Lussier & Hendon, 2018). In today’s workforce, team work is essential in achieving organizational outcomes. Lussier & Hendon (2018), state that companies cannot be competitive and successful without effective team efforts. Manion (2011), attest that the quality of the leader and followers’ relationship directly affects the ability to obtain outcomes (Manion, 2011). This can also be said for the co-worker to co-worker relationships.
