Having lived there for three years, I was able to take a tour of one of the Grand Mosques there. The Grand Mosque is the Christian’s equivalent to the church to a certain extent, but while touring the Mosque I was introduced to a lot of facts about the Islamic religion I did not know. I experienced first-hand a Muslim trying to convince me that Christianity and Islam are the same religion. At the time, I knew the religions were not the same, but I did not know how they were not the same. Therefore, it is vital for Christians to be informed on the major differences between these two religions. Believers of Islam will often point Christians to the similarities between these two religions in order to prove it is the same religion, but there are some major differences that distinguish just how opposing the views of Islam and Christianity are. These religions are not only drastically different visibly on the surface, but fundamentally different in the scripture they use and have different views on the main prophets.First, just on the surface, these religions are so drastically different because of their belief in the proper way to dress. Women of the Islamic religion are expected to where scarf-like head coverings called hijabs with loose flowing robe-like gowns made of the same fabric material, which can be found in the Qur’an in the chapter The Light verse 31 (Muhammed). They wear this because scriptures of the Quran lead them to believe it is wrong for men to see women’s hair
