Integrative Case 9.0 The Donor Services Department Sam Wilson, the executive director and national representative of a U.S. based agency, has received complaints about his Donor Services Department. He has asked Joanna Reed to examine the department in order to identify and correct deficiencies before the office’s expansion that will occur within a year. Problems within the department include poor management, inefficiency, inadequate training and low moral. The Donor Services Department must function with high efficiency and productivity in order to properly track those enrolled in the program, distribute funds accurately and manage extensive paperwork. Most of the issues within the department are related to conflict. The conflict stems from several issues. Several staff members do not respect Elena as the departmental supervisor because she exercises little to no authority and she is not bilingual. Also, the work is not divided equally which creates more work for certain people and a few others spend more time socializing than actually working. They also had limited opportunities in which they could use their English skills while working. Reed took the time to have each employee explain to her their jobs in order to get a better understanding of what goes on in the Donor Services Department, who performs what tasks and how they perform those tasks. By doing this, Reed can better sees where improvements in the effectiveness of the department can be made in order to restructure the organization.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
