Name: Nathaniel Ogden Scenario: More Competition There are two parts to this assignment. First use the analyzing tool that we are using as a framework to work through an ethical dilemma (from below). Fill out the worksheet by typing in the areas. You will find the instructions in the middle column. Your answers should be typed in the ANSWER column. When you have worked through the scenario you will write a reflect essay about your work. Directions for the essay can be found at the end of this assignment. Ethical Dilemma: What is the conflict? What do you do? Why? Domains and explanations Answer Domain #1 Identification of the Problem or conflict Describe clearly and comprehensively the problem as it applies to a Code of Ethics. What is the main stakeholder being asked to do that is outside of their area of expertise? What Code of Ethics tenet is in conflict? Do not just summarize the scenario give to you above. Only list what the conflict is according to the CoE you will be applying. The problem in his senario is my co- worker has information about our rival company, Evil Enterprises. Having these notes could help the our company or ruin it. It can help by giving us an advantage of what E.E. is doing and allow us to stay ahead on the competition. However, they could ruin our company if they were leaked to the media somehow, E.E. could sue us for compromising classified intel and it can permanently ruin our company name. REFLECTIVE ESSAY 1 U.S. Code 798 - B Perspective of problem from all stakeholders involved. Stakeholders include main characters, intuitional systems and community members. You need you identify at least three stake holders. 1. Me- I see that my colleague has classified information about our competitor. If I see these notes, then I could use it to my advantage and gain majority in the competition. Although, it may also backfire if these notes leaked out to the media dn if EE finds out they could file a possible lawsuit 2. Co-Worker- Having these notes; the co- worker may be overwhelmed with joy that he is helping. he may not see the effects of what sharing the notes could bring; but could still be opened up to suggestions. To him, it may not seem like a big problem; he’s just trying to help.
