Healthy versus non-healthy coping skills I asked about healthy vs. unhealthy coping skill Mrs.D.K told me when she has stress she used to do mediation which is healthy coping skill. But she told me sometimes she did unhealthy comping strategies like smoking more than usual, drink alcohol to avoid her feeling of anxiety. She told me feels sense of relief after using this strategy. Mrs.D.K told me she used to do problem-solving techniques, eating healthy , talking about her problem with son but after her son passed away she start smoke more than usual. Three pieces of advice when I asked about three pieces of advice to her younger self, Mrs. D.K said enjoyed your time when you get time, time never wait, she said she always During therapeutic assessment interview I used Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) for depression screen. It does not assess for suicidality. Mrs. D.K score >5 on the geriatric depression scale.
