If Earth has no green house gases in the troposphere, the temperature would increase at lower altitudes because the IR light would reflect off the ground and it would be trapped by green house gases in the atmosphere. With this increased altitude there is less atmosphere as well as less green house gases that can trap heat. If there were no green house gases to trap heat, little amount of heat would be trapped in the atmosphere. b.) If the sun emitted no ultraviolet light, the lower stratosphere would not be heated.
