The Mysterious Liquid from Area 51 A Brief Synopsis of the facts Roswell, New Mexico had always been a small quite military/mining town. For decades not much happened in this almost forgotten part of the American southwest. Until one day, in early July of 1947, witnesses saw what they thought was a comet, shooting star or meteor strike the Earth several miles outside of town. Some of the witnesses went to the site of what was initially believed to be the impact of a meteor or other natural object. Some found nothing; some said that they found the remains of a crashed UFO (unidentified flying object) sometimes known as a flying saucer. Further, some said that the UFO contained the remains of alien astronauts. When the incident was reported to authorities the area was sealed off and access prevented to all except the military. Access to the actual site was restricted to outsiders, according to the army, to prevent contamination of the area or the theft of valuable research materials. Armed guards prevented the locals
