This, of course, is the right of any citizen over the age of 18. Many women keptthemselves in darkness for fear of aggression should they demand their rights of equality.Specifically, there were several previous attempts to achieve the right for women to votethroughout the entire country, yet these attempts met with frequent failure and without positiveoutcomes. One woman dared face the Bureau of Senators and did tremendous change in history.Carrie Chapman Catt, for example, was a woman with enough courage in her speech to make adifference and eventually the Congress approved the right for women to vote throughout thecountry. This result finally expanded throughout the entire United States.Mrs. Catt's argument was successful as it has crucial events in history that make it verystrong and persuasive for the time. The country had over 140 years of independence at the time.
