SYSTEM PROPOSAL DOCUMENT 2 Source: MINDBODY System Proposal Introduction “Founded in 1998, MINDBODY is the largest cloud-based software provider in the health, wellness, and beauty industries”. (docsend.com, 2016.) This business case proposal will provide data on the information systems issues MINDBODY is experiencing and how it is impacting the enterprise. Background MINDBODY is one of the largest software and technology that connects the world to wellness. Located in San Luis Obispo, California, MINDBODY connects millions of clients to their health, beauty, and wellness professionals. According to docsend.com (2016), “Over 500,000 practitioners at over 30,000 locations in 90 countries use MINDBODY” (para. 1). Overtime MINDBODY has gained over 1,500 clients which is supported with its SaaS-based software. In 2013, MINDBODY developed an app for consumers to have access to their fitness, workout, beauty, and wellness needs. The MINDBODY Connect app provides everything a client needs, all in one place. The MINDBODY Connect app provides businesses to view sales, receive payments, and manage schedules for several locations. Clients are paired with wellness professionals that meet their needs, book, and pay for services. MINDBODY strives to meet their core values of audaciously achieving, being humble/helpful, consciously evolving, being empathetic, and commitment to wellness. Between

SYSTEM PROPOSAL DOCUMENT 3 2008-2012 MINDBODY revenue growth rapidly increased 437% ranking them 228 th four years in a row in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500. Problem Statement MINDBODY prides in customer service, uptime, and reliability of their Content Delivery Network (CDN). SaaS-based software was MINDBODY CDN for the past two years. During the two years, web performance of its software services was experiencing outages. Monitoring their web performance, it was determined that 78% of the outages MINDBODY experienced was due to SaaS (CDN). MINDBODY web performance issues of slowdowns, failures, and outages due to a surge of sudden website traffic impacts the business revenue. Frustrations from clients not being able to access the wellness professional website or mobile app will impact MINDBODY’s conversion rates, bounce rates, and churn rates. Audience MINDBODY business case proposal target audience is the systems review committee, which consists of Information Technology (IT) director, managers, IT staff members, and stakeholders. To effectively communicate the information of this proposal to the systems review committee I will provide the following data: Overview of Feasibility – Provide the systems review committee data on the effectiveness/advantages of a new CDN provider, the benefits of a new CDN provider outweighs the estimated costs, technical resources availability, and implementation can be in an acceptable time frame.
