INTRODUCTION A discourse community is generally defined as a group of individuals who share a set of discourses, understood as basic values and assumptions and ways of communicating about and achieving those goals. Prior to being formally introduced to discourse community I called my associations “being connected” without the categories of learning or social; although they are the same. This has caused me to realize that I am a part of a good number of discourse communities of which include: Sisterhood, a small group of ladies (outside of biologic family) who come from different backgrounds and ethnicities who are Christian and have a common goal to live life for Christ and need this sisterhood connection to do so; Judah (church praise team) this group has a call on each individual life to sing praises unto God; Business Owners who have different specialties of business but has a common goal of knowing and operating business; Diabetes, there are millions of individuals with diabetes I am community with men, women, young and old who are in my family, friends, church members and co-workers.

With the various communities of my involvement topics, issues, problems and concerns of discussions vary as well, ladies feeling overwhelmed with balancing life, work, ministry,
