What ethical issues are associated with the following parenting topics: genetic testing, designer babies, cloning, prenatal screening, and age discrimination? Select two topics to discuss and provide your viewpoints. By: Jarreau Gaines “Knowing one’s genetic profile can lead to early detection and better treatment of hereditary disorders” (Holden, G., 2009). Genetic Testing can be a very useful tool in helping families find out early whether or not their child will have certain genetic disorders. With today's day and age during a woman’s pregnancy there are options that we have for families to find out if their child will be healthy or need extra attention. A few of the tests that can be run are: Sequential screen, Maternal Serum Quad screen, and 20 –Week Ultrasound. Three pieces of information are combined for the Sequential screening during two stages of the pregnancy.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
