Information Security-Types of Social Engineering (Docdroppers, n.d.) We have seen the most social engineering in the simple example in my initial weeks post. However, there are numerous more sophisticated ways “cyber-crooks” as I call them can obtain information from you without you being fully aware. Let’s look at the ways or terminology for social engineering: 1) Phishing-Sending fake links to users with real website names, company names, and emails to get users to click on the links and provide certain sensitive information for personal gain. 2) Spear Phishing-A more defined user base but like phishing just more detailed on who potential targets will be sought after. 3) Vishing- When telecommunications is used via telephone or robo-calls to entice customers to make faulty payments thus disclosing sensitive information. 4) Pre-Texting-Use of false information to obtain sensitive information from a user to obtain ones identity; identity theft.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
