Essay 1 Introduction Modern physics relates to the study of theories developed aiming in the ultimate structure and interactions of matter, space and time. The one bridging factor between the classical physics and the modern physics was on the factor ‘energy’. Modern physics made greater discoveries within the 20th century. German physicist Max Planck was the first to study the effect of radiation on a blackbody which lead to the development of modern physics pertaining to quantum theory. Albert Einstein in 1905 was able to determine that the laws of physics remained the same for all non-accelerating observer. Moreover it was observed that the speed of light in a vacuum remained the same and was independent of the motion of all observers. This was the theory of special relativity. Paul Dirac was the scientist who was able to formulate the Quantum field theory or QFT as the theory of matter and its interactions within them. His attempt was to quantize the electromagnetic
