The Abu Ghraib case study was a sad and disappointing time in American history. The things that were allowed to go on inside of the prison were simply horrifying. America failed greatly in upholding those great values that they once prided themselves to have. One organizational change I would have implemented would have been to have specific protocols and procedures on how to handle and question detainees. I would have also appointed a certain people to oversee the questioning and to make sure that everything was being followed by the book. In most cases, when people are given free reign, they tend to go overboard. Had a clear leader been appointed and the execution of procedure was being monitored closely, the tragic events at Abu Ghraib may not have occurred. According to Strasser (2004), as stated in the article, “As a matter of public policy, the United States Armed forces shall continue to treat detainees humanely and, to the extent appropriate and consistent with military necessity, in a
