This preview shows page 1 - 2 out of 4 pages.

Why do you think it is so important that all evidence be identified (such as marking the bullets and tagging firearms)? What consequences might result if these procedures were not followed? It is important to identify evidence because later on when we are examining the evidence, we know exactly what evidence is and we know it came from the crime scene. For example, an identification tag would include information about the case number, the firearm’s serial number, and the initials of the investigator who collected the evidence. Without this tag, we have no idea what it is or if it even came from the crime scene. If these procedures are not followed, we lose time by trying to figure out where the evidence came from. Also, we lose credibility and it wouldn’t be admissible in court so any piece of evidence that is not tagged is useless. What do you think would be the most interesting aspect working with firearm evidence?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
