Adam Kuhl Quick Write A Place to Stand Starting college is a very exciting and frightening time for incoming freshman. It is said that college is where you have the best times of your life. When I first got to college however, I felt a lot like I did during the lunch hour of my first day at high school. You are excited to be there at last, but apprehensive about the implications that the next couple of decisions that you make will have. Every kid knows that where you sit the first day of school is of significant importance. At least at my high school, you were expected to sit there for the rest of the year. This means that you become friends with the people you sit with and are forever a part of that group. Trying to switch groups can often lead to the loss of friendship of those that you used to sit by because they assume you think you are too cool to sit with them, or that you are upset with them over something. Uncertainty rages through the young freshman’s mind as they only want a
