Unformatted text preview: The Market Revolution ( First U.S. Industrial Revolution , 1800 - 1840 ) is an era in which we see unprecedented growth in terms of technology and manufacturing capabilities . This is a very exciting era , although at first look it may seem as it is very slow and not much happening . I can assure you the changes occurring are phenomenal ! There are several technological advances that will be the catalysts for the transformation of our economy in the early to mid - 19 th century ( what products are made , how they are transported , and who has access to them ) . It is of course , not an end to the agrarian nation , but the " stepping stones " towards a more urban based society , especially concentrated in the north and northeastern regions of the U.S. Undoubtedly altering the lifestyle of many in terms of how they earned a living and the industries in which they participated .
