1. Who or what was Jesus? This question can be answered in A LOT of different ways— historically, theologically, philosophically. All answers are welcome, just make sure you spend time explaining his origins. It would also be a good idea to address the big picture question we’ve been dealing with about whether he’s a Pharisee, a Saducee, an Essene etc. (along with a description of what each of these). 2. Write a short research paper on the Essene community at Qumran—who were they, how did they relate to other groups within Judaism, how were they influential for Christianity? 3. Compare and contrast Judaism with Christianity. How are they related historically and otherwise? How are they similar (be specific)? How are they different? 4. Early Christians thought of themselves as Jews, not just ethnically but religiously as well (as in, they thought of themselves as equally Jewish in belief as the Pharisees). Were they correct? Why or why not?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
