6053W7DQ Communication According to Marquis and Huston (2017), the interchange of information via verbal, nonverbal, and written are considered as communication; it has a sender and receiver. When it comes to organizational communication, it is more intricate than personal communication (Marquis& Huston, 2017). Ineffective communication is the primary cause of avoidable adverse events in hospitals (Manojlovich, Harrod, Holtz, Hofer, Kuhn, and Krein, 2015). Therefore, effective communication is indispensable in healthcare to safeguard continuousness of care. In this week’s discussion, we look back and visit a couple of incidents that were ineffective communication, the barriers, and strategies for better outcomes. Ineffective Communication “Internal climate integrates the values, feelings, temperament, and stress level of the sender and the receiver” (Marquis & Huston, 2017, p. 493). Two incidents involving ineffective communication come to mind. The first one was when I was working in vent dependent specialty unit as an LPN with 98% of the nursing staffs were RN’s.
