Post by Tyler Sapp 9 hours ago Re: School Punishment in 1848 Discussion The third day of kindergarten I was paddled for talking during naptime after being told 3 times to stop. In third grade I was given detention for talking during lunch when we were supposed to be silent. When I was in fifth grade I was given detention for calling another student a mean name. In middle school I got behavior marks for talking all the time. The punishments that I received because they kept me from getting in serious disciplinary offenses and actions. Some examples of this are; suspension, ISS, expulsion, or sent to the alternative school. I learned by the small punishments what would happen if I broke a school rule. This kept me in check. This allowed me to think before doing something that I know could have gotten me in trouble. I believe that all of these punishments were effective. When comparing the list of punishments from 1848 and now I see that corporal punishment have GREATLY decrease. In 1848 it seems like that there was no detention, or ISS, it was paddling. If the
