GENETIC NURSING ASSESSMENT 2 Sickle Cell Trait I have used my family to bring out how a genetic condition has been part and parcel of our lifestyle for almost a century now. The count begins with my grandfather and the grandmother who in the actual sense is still alive. It then continues to my parents who are also alive and well. I complete the generation with us who are four in number which constitutes two ladies and three gentlemen . The generation is not quite aged because my grandfather stands out to be having 70 years and my father being the only child at forty-five years of age. The grandfather has had a normal with good health and has not been in a position to visit most health facilities for any medical condition. In fact, he is lucky in a way since he has never been admitted. However, the grandmother who stands out at fifty years of age is quite energetic and was diagnosed with the sickle cell genetic trait or disorder while she was about 15 years. Occupationally, the grandfather is a businessman who deals in clothes and the grandmother is a teacher (Kaakinen et al., 2015). Therefore, they have been in a great position to manage all the requirements of the disease and this to a great extent has assisted the grandmother.
