1.0 Identification of the main issue Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values, and beliefs that show employees what is appropriate and inappropriate behavior (Chatman & Eunyoung, 2003). An organizational culture also referred to how employees in an organization interact and communicate with each other in order to get their work done. In this case, leaders, as one of the important roles in an organization, need to know about organizational culture and what they can do to sustain and build stronger cultures in the organizatio n. Based on our case study, one of the main issues is leaders, not only they can give positive influence on culture, but, they can also create unhealthy and toxic cultures in the organizations (1 mark) . Leaders influence culture through their strategies, practices, values, leadership style and example (Steers & Shim, 2013). Leaders’ influence play an important role in shaping the organizational culture and it gives a huge impact in the organization. An ineffective leader, or a good leader who makes bad decisions, can tear down a culture in the organization that took long time to build (1 mark) . An ineffective leader will always neglect the importance of the culture. Culture does matters in order to build a healthy culture in their organizations. Due to this poor leadership and management, it caused unhealthy cultures in the organization and the performance of the organization will be affected (1 mark) . The second issue is most leaders in the organization pay little attention on how to build and sustain the organizational culture. Sometimes, leaders are too obsessed in improving their earnings and achieving their goals without realize that by doing so, they need to have a stronger, better and healthier culture in the organization (1 mark) . For some leaders, by talking a lot about culture in the organization without even doing it, is just enough. This is totally wrong because they need to walk the talk as strong culture is the most vital ingredient in achieving the best performance in the organization. They need to understand how by building and sustaining the culture will, then, affect their leadership roles. The third issue is leaders’ poor decision making will give negative impact on the organizational culture like unethical behavior. Leaders need to ensure that both strategy and culture, as well as rewards that will be given, must be aligned to support each other (1 mark) . It is important for leaders to be aware of the behaviors that they reinforcing so that the
