Taylor is a 10-year-old male with moderate intellectual disability that engages in disruptive behavior when tangible items are restricted. He currently lives at home with his parents and siblings. The function of his challenging behavior has been determined to be access to tangible items. STUDENT: Taylor DATE: 3/20/2019 SOURCE ONE SOURCE TWO SO ABC DATA Needs Identification Interview Sc Disruptive behavior primarily occured in the home with minimal bouts of disruptions at school. Disruptions at school were only when the iPAD was taken away for non-compliance. Disruptions occurred when the iPAD was taken away from Taylor. 100% of the disruptions occurred following a request to complete a task and when the iPAD was taken away in order to complete the task. 99% of disruptions observed included swiping items in proximity to Taylor. Disruptions also include shouting above conversation level. 1% of disruptions observed included kicking items across the room. 100% of challenging behavior resulted in parents requiring that Taylor count to three to calm down. He was not required to complete the tasks that upset him and he was redirected to counting to three to calm down. The iPAD was returned upon calming down for 100% of the consequences. 100% of the consequences included return of the iPAD and attention from parents. Taylor is a 10 year old male who engages in disruptive behavior primarily at home and sometimes at school when his iPAD is taken away. According to Taylor’s parents and teachers, Taylor engages in disruptive behavior only when he does not have his iPAD. Disruptive behavior includes throwing items, swiping items in proximity to Taylor, and shouting above conversation level. Taylor’s parents and teachers require that he calms down before his iPAD is retuned to him.
