Tasjnae Hall 5th period 12-17-18 George Washington. George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. His father died when he was eleven years old, and after he spent the next few years living in different households throughout Virginia. He became one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America and served as the nation's first president. From 1775-1783 he commanded the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War. Over the course of George Washington's life he wrote documents over the Colonial, The Revolutionary War, Confederation Congress, and Post Political Documents. During The American Revolutionary War, a genuine quote he had said was ¨The time is now near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be freemen or Slaves. ¨
