John F. Kennedy Monologue I believe secrets are dangerous for society. They create doubt, anger, and fear. These are all emotions that can lead to violence, war, and turmoil. Telling the truth isn’t always the answer though. There are things some people cannot process, or the truth may instill more fear and cause more damage to the public. I have made decisions that the public has disapproved of, just as fellow leaders have. Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter, Iphigenia, to Artemis so she would grant him back the winds that allow his fleet to sail to troy. Although I don’t recommend human sacrifice, by doing so he ensured his fleet reached troy, in order to bring in profit for his country. He did what he had to, what he in the moment thought must be done for the sake of his people. My decisions with Cuba may be disapproved, but maybe if we as an administration had been more transparent people would understand. I intended to work closely with my
