3 Abstract This project is commissioned by the client to build an HVAC system with a systematic air refined system and decent temperature condition comfort for a 2-floor retail area combined with a carpark by using the given conditions in the assignment specification. In the Part B report, by using CAMEL, it aims to analyze the heat load simulation of all the conditioned regions which are divided into several different thermal zones. Furthermore, the air schematics as well as the dust design will be examined and designed. Additionally, the fan selections, pressure loss analysis and AHU selections should also be discussed. The systematic strategies of building refinement and some comments on it will be clarified in the report. Introduction This project mainly aims to propose an HVAC system design for a 2-floor retail store combined with a carpark. In order to achieve this purpose, we should firstly simulate the cooling and heating load situations by using CAMEL and run calculations for the building. Furthermore, we will work on the air schematics, duct deployments, pressure loss calculations and fan selection, AHU selection and system improvement and sustainable design. Firstly, the design specifications of this assignment should be clarified. The general details of the air conditioning design conditions are listed in the Table 1 below. This 2-floor retail store center consists of 34 stores as well as a 2-floor carpark. It has a combined glazing façade with shading panels on the surface on the front view.

5 1. Conditioned/ventilated space maps and thermal zone plans The conditioned area should be apart from outside environment, whose inside surroundings can be adjusted by specific mechanical system units, for an instance, the heating or cooling units. The partitions consist of external & internal walls, windows, roofs, floors and skylights, which can isolate the people from the external environment by using blocks or shelters. The ventilated space refers to the regions having access to exchanging or removing the outside air into the cabins which is able to improve the air quality. This process consists of the air exchange and air recycling. By offensive odor removal and extra moisture, this strategy can contribute to refine the air quality inside.
