Entrepreneurship can be defined as the activity of setting up a business or businesses and taking on financial risks in the hope of making a profit. The study of entrepreneurship includes the study of entrepreneurs behaviour, as well as the dynamics of business set-up, expansion and development. While an entrepreneur can be described as a knowledgeable and skilled individual (craftsman) who is instrumental in the development of a city-state where enterprises will emerge. (Abdul Rahman Mohamed Khaldun) In my study, I chose to study the background of a restaurant called "My Tomyam Chicken Rice 2". The restaurant is based on food and drinks. It is owned by Muhammad Amir Hamzah Bin Abd Rahim and is 26 years old. He is a Malay and a Muslim. For additional information, he has two restaurants in Johor. The address of the restaurant at its first branch is located at No-14, Jalan Biru, Pasir Pasir Park, 8300, Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Takzim. Next, my research site is the address of the restaurant at the second branch at No-4, Jalan Ria Bahru, Taman Ria Bahru, 86400, Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Takzim. The first restaurant started operating on January 27, 2014 and the second restaurant on July 27, 2017. In the first restaurant, the number of employees was 8 workers and the number of employees in the second restaurant was 6 workers. The restaurant has several skilled workers in cooking. This is evidenced by a certificate issued by the skills training center in the field of cooking in Malaysia. Ownership of this restaurant is private. The initial capital used to start the business at the first branch is RM 30,000 more and at the second branch is RM 20,000 more. The restaurant is open daily except on Mondays and is open from 4 pm to 2 am only. In the month of Ramadhan, the restaurant operates on a daily basis and is open from 5pm till 3am only. SWOT Analysis is a useful technique for understanding entrepreneur strengths and weaknesses, and for identifying both the opportunities open to the entrepreneurs and the threats he faces. It helps you focus on your strengths, minimizes threats, and take the greatest possible advantage of opportunities available to you. It can be used to "kick off" strategy formulation, or in a more sophisticated way as a serious strategy tool. You can also use it to get an understanding of your competitors, which can give you the insights you need to craft a coherent and successful competitive position.
