Ramzi Bou Khalil A1310436 Section 6 Smartphones One of the recent words used since the end of the first decade of the 21 st century is “smartphone”. When a person is walking in a public place, he can obviously notice that the majority of people are holding a device in their hands, and staring on its big screen. These smartphones have many effects on the users. In fact, some people claim that smartphones have negative impacts on the social life of the users; however, I believe that smartphones have many positive impacts especially on the business and education. Using smartphones and their applications has many advantages on business. According to Islam, Islam, and Mazumder (n.d.), mobile applications are softwares running on a mobile device, and can be used anywhere. People are using these applications for many reasons such as contacting friends, browsing the internet, creating documents, and many more. This growth in using mobile applications has many positive impacts on the business sector. Two types of applications are available in the store which are native and third party. A research, Global mobile application market (2010-2015), shows that the number of applications downloaded in 2009 is more than 6 billion from the native and third party stores.
