This preview shows page 1 out of 1 page.

This memo was full of idiomatic expressions, and I found it troublesome and unprofessional. The memo, reads as if he were sending it to his friends, rather than share holders of the corporation. This use of informal language would be highly inappropriate in a professional setting. A memorandum is a communication note that records events or observations on a topic. Used within a business environment they are an interoffice tool that can serve a multitude of purposes. Many corporations consider memos as legal documents. That is why it is important to write them in a professional manner. They can also be used as an official document, should a court case arise. The audience and their needs should be considered when preparing a memo. An acronym or abbreviation (ROI was used in the memo) that is known to management may not be known by all the employees of the organization. Since that memo was distributed to shareholders, the goal should have clear and concise communication at all levels.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
