RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CORRUPTION AND DEMOCRACY2Relationship between Corruption and DemocracyTo build a democracy, there must be an open society with an effective sharing of information. Information results to enlightenment while debate contributes to different solutions. In cases where an environment fails to share power, no rule of law and accountability, the results will be resentment, abuse, subjugation and also corruption. Corruption involves the misuse of different public offices with a primary objective of personal gains thus resulting in abuse of power. Therefore, for fraud to happen, it means that there must be a particular individual with political-related strengths thus involved in abusing the power which will, in turn, result in personal gains. Abuse of power, in this case, can take different forms with the impacts benefitingdifferent people from an individual involved, family and also party affiliate. Democracy, on the other hand, requires people to elect representatives on matters that are related to politics, and at the same time, selected individuals can result to abusing these people for their gains thus leading to a relationship between corruption and democracy. There are a lot of people in the world living in poverty , and as a results, any opportunity that is presented them with a chance to accept particular favor or even cash in return of either a support or contract tend to be tempting and an excellent opportunity for them to have what they desire and aim for in general. Institutions that are well functioning and those that have good governance tend to have positive growth (Escresa & Picci, 2016). Corruption is considered as unethical as it does to benefit each that is supposed to be in general for most states and organization that depend on democracy for their governance. Some of the leaders, in this case, tend to abuse power with a primary objective of achieving particular personal benefits in general.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CORRUPTION AND DEMOCRACY3The perception in consideration to corruption as personal misconduct and on the other hand weaknesses for particular groups of people results to laws that deal with the elimination of correction to prevent any policy reform that is unnecessary in states that are democratic. At the same time, influencing any decisions politically through consideration of resolutions and elements that are related to corruption is mainly an illegal act. For most political scientists, they have not come up with a valid and reliable explanation that explains the actual differences between bribery and lobbying. However, lobbying, in this case, can be considered as an effectiveand accepted method in which different interests can be presented.
