In whatever field one may find themselves in, it is key to capitalize on corestrengths. Lifetime employability and lifetime employment are different. While one may staywith a company for 50-60 years, another is able to be hired for 50-60 years because they havetransferable skills. In a world where individuals are being replaced by machines and technology,it is important that your skills are not only necessary for one particular company or role.Critical thinking can be applied to several areas in your life. It is an exchangeable skill,which is necessary throughout healthcare. In patient care, healthcare administrators are facedwith making decisions that can greatly impact patient outcome and employee satisfaction. Theymust decide the best course of action for their facility. Decision making is based off of hospitalgoals and data, from there a healthcare administrator must make an informed decision.In my opinion, the most essential elements for any professional in a healthcareenvironment is empathy. Although, you may not have experienced what someone else may begoing through, you are still able to share their experience. I find that remembering ‘it couldalways be you’ has humbled me, when I thought I got the upper hand in a situation.
