Christopher Genco Prof. Guertin HIST3001 May 14th, 2014 The Separation of the North & South The separation of the north and south during the civil war in the United States is an interesting topic because it presents so many diverse issues of the time period. On one side of the country there are people who accept a new way of thinking and are relying on modern industrialization to carry them forward in life. The are trying to become less reliant on the abuse of the slavery system that was so important over so many years. These are people realizing that this way of treatment is not moral. This is represented as the free land, a place of justice and prosperity. On the other hand you have the southern states, so deeply convinced that this is what they need to be successful in their trade. They have become so reliant on slavery that it is woven into their culture and way of life. They treat slavery as a necessary evil to continue their life.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
